August 2nd 2010, Shanghaidaily.com, Uucc.com and Expo 2010.cn write that Lithuania Pavilion welcomed its 3 millionth visitor. Zhang Huiguo from Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, became the lucky visitor. Aivaras Kriauciunas, the deputy commissioner general of Lithuania Pavilion,presented Zhang a Lithuania-style basketball gift pack. Kriauciunas said it was a great moment for Lithuania. Firstly, Lithuania has a population of about 3.4 million, and the number of visitor toured the pavilion has already almost equaled to it. Secondly, FIBA European Basketball Championship will be held in Lithuania in 2011 and it will be a good chance for Lithuania to introduce itself to the world. That’s why the pavilion chose basketball to be today’s present, Kriauciunas said.
The winner Zhang was very excited. He said he could speak a little Russian and was looking forward to touring the country. The Lithuania Pavilion is in Zone C. The design comes from the image of budding flowers, symbolizing a vigorous and blooming country and its cities. The exhibition centers on the success stories of urban development, architectural and cultural heritage, natural protection, people's achievements, sports and scientific development, among others.
