In September 25 th, 2006, The Government of Lithuania made the decision to participate in World Exposition “Expo 2010” and charged the ministry of Environment to coordinate the preparation and participation of Lithuania in the Expo.
Lithuania has a pavilion of 2000 sq.m. which is reserved in the section of European countries. Lithuania will be able to show its examples of progressive planning and design of contemporary cities, achievements in the field of apartment or other kind of houses constructing, to show examples of harmonious coexistence with nature.
The World Exposition in Shanghai is one of the best opportunities to proclaim as much positive information about Lithuania to China and other Asian countries as possible.
„Expo 2010“ – is the third Expo in turn, where the responsibility of the participation of Lithuania is given to the ministry of Environment.
In Expo Aichi 2005, in Japan nearly 2 million people visited the pavilion of Lithuania – twice more as expected, and the cultural program was recognized as one of the best in the whole Expo. „The Home of Rain“ in Expo Zaragoza 2008“, in Spain attracted about 820 thousand visitors – almost twice as expected.
